Solar Smoothie Cart
One of the coolest things ESW-UB has made is its Solar Smoothie Cart. As you can see below, it is like a hot dog vendor cart, but with a solar panel as its roof. On hot days UB students could find us on campus selling ice-cold smoothies made with the power of the sun!
I began working with the cart below after its design and construction had been completed. I did, however, work with the team on the new design, funded by SunEdison through ESW National. My main contribution was designing a data acquisition system for the cart to monitor panel voltage and current, as well as current and voltage use. Our plan was to have the same system for both the new cart and our Pedal Power project. For more information on this system, check out my Pedal Power page.
